Jeremiah 13: you who are so long-practiced in evil... Gods on the hills, gods in the fields— every time I look you’re off with another god.... It’s because you forgot me and embraced the Big Lie, that so-called god Baal.... Here we can see confirmed the reason for God's anger against His people in Jerusalem and Judah. God really hates to see us going after gods (things of this world) other than Him because He is a jealous God. Our primary focus and priority should be our Lord Almighty, and no one else should be in between.
Jeremiah 14:Remember your covenant! Don’t break faith with us!.... This is Jeremiah's plea with God as he throws himself to mercy of God's grace and covenant. The people of Judah and Jerusalem have clearly sinned before God and they at least they confess their past sins with their lips so that God helps them to overcome the hardships of the drought.
Jeremiah 15: "Let your words change them. Don’t change your words to suit them." There is the wisdom. We have to pray to God so that His word will change us, and not that we change His word to suit us and our secular lives.
