Jeremiah 28: We can see how prophet Hananiah wrongfully prophesied "that God will smash the yoke of the king of Babylon and get him off the neck of all the nations—and within two years." Unfortunately, God had never sent Hananiah to address to the people of their imminent delivery from the Babylonian captivity. Instead, it was Hananiah who misused the position and authority given to him by God.

Jeremiah 29:"Make yourselves at home there and work for the country’s welfare." So we can see that God has a plan for the exiles and He does not want them to do any harm to the Babylonians. Rather, during the 70 years of Babylonian captivity, He wants the exiles to work hard for the country and help the Babylonians to improve their economy.
"Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed." This is a serious message to all those who claim to want to get close to Christ.

Jeremiah 30: “‘And that’s it: You’ll be my very own people, I’ll be your very own God.’” Despite the seemingly overwhelming burden and punishment on the exiles, God nevertheless reminds them that He will turn things around for them and that he is a compassionate God who rebuilds and restores.
