Jeremiah 4: This chapter describes well God's sledgehammer anger against the people of Judah and Jerusalem. Surely, God wants to forgive their sins and inequities. But they don't stop rebelling against Him and continue on with their evil acts.
Jeremiah 5:" With eyes that see but don’t really look, and ears that hear but don’t really listen..." "But what will you do when it’s time to pick up the pieces?”... Clearly, as a farmer expects fruits and results at the time of harvest, I believe that God has expectations toward His people. He really wants us to listen to His word of life and apply it to our daily lives. As we do so, he will open our spiritual eyes and ears that will help us to discern things that please Him vs. displease Him.
Jeremiah 6: "They’re a thickheaded, hard-nosed bunch, rotten to the core, the lot of them." That's God's general view of the people in Judah and Jerusalem who keep on sinning and stay with their evil deeds. Simply put, they don't want to hear God's voice and they have tuned out God in their lives.
