Amos 7: Despite hostility by Amaziah, the priest at the shrine at Bethel, Amos is ready to preach the gospel to the people of Israel. He is more concerned and focused on preaching the word of God than to deal with oppositions.
Amos 8: Who say, “When’s my next paycheck coming so I can go out and live it up? How long till the weekend when I can go out and have a good time?” "It won’t be food or water that’s lacking, but my Word. People will drift from one end of the country to the other." That's right. We all know how to enjoy ourselves and to have a good time but our hearts are far away from the word of God.
