Luke 4:1-13

예수께서 성령으로 가득하여 요단 강에서 돌아오셨다. 그리고 그는 성령에 이끌려 광야로 가셔서, 사십 일 동안 악마에게 시험을 받으셨다. 그 동안 아무것도 잡수시지 않아서, 그 기간이 다하였을 때에는 시장하셨다. 악마가 예수께 말하였다. "네가 하나님의 아들이거든, 이 돌더러 빵이 되라고 말해 보아라." 예수께서 악마에게 대답하셨다. "성경에 기록하기를 '사람은 빵만 먹고 사는 것이 아니다' 하였다." 그랬더니 악마는 예수를 높은 데로 이끌고 가서, 순식간에 세계 모든 나라를 그에게 보여 주었다.그리고 나서 악마는 그에게 말하였다. "내가 이 모든 권세와 그 영광을 너에게 주겠다. 이것은 나에게 넘어온 것이니, 내가 주고 싶은 사람에게 준다. 그러므로 네가 내 앞에 엎드려 절하면, 이 모든 것을 너에게 주겠다." 예수께서 악마에게 대답하셨다. "성경에 기록하기를 '주 너의 하나님께 경배하고, 그분만을 섬겨라' 하였다." 그래서 악마는 예수를 예루살렘으로 이끌고 가서, 성전 꼭대기에 세우고, 그에게 말하였다. "네가 하나님의 아들이거든, 여기에서 뛰어내려 보아라. 성경에 기록하기를 '하나님이 너를 위하여 자기 천사들에게 명해서, 너를 지키게 하실 것이다' 하였고또한 '그들이 손으로 너를 떠받쳐서, 너의 발이 돌에 부딪히지 않게 할 것이다' 하였다." 예수께서 악마에게 대답하셨다. "성경에 기록하기를 '주 너의 하나님을 시험하지 말아라' 하였다." 악마는 모든 시험을 끝마치고 물러가서, 어느 때가 되기까지 예수에게서 떠나 있었다.Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone.'" The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'" The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down from here. For it is written: " 'He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully;they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" Jesus answered, "It says: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
