Titus 1:1-4

하나님의 종이요 예수 그리스도의 사도인 나 바울은, 하나님의 택하심을 받은 사람들의 믿음을 일깨워 주고 경건함에 딸린 진리의 지식을 깨우쳐 주기 위하여, 사도가 되었습니다. 나는 거짓이 없으신 하나님께서 영원 전부터 약속해 두신 영생에 대한 소망을 품고 있습니다. 하나님께서는 제 때가 되었을 때에 하나님의 이 약속의 말씀을 사도들의 선포를 통하여 드러내셨습니다. 나는 우리의 구주이신 하나님의 명령을 따라 이것을 선포하는 임무를 맡았습니다. 나는, 같은 믿음을 따라 진실한 아들이 된 디도에게 이 편지를 씁니다. 하나님 아버지와 우리 구주 예수 그리스도께서 내려주시는 은혜와 평화가 그대에게 있기를 빕니다.Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness-- a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
