Chapter 22: "Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because they too have sided with David. They knew he was fleeing, yet they did not tell me.” I wonder why Saul made such a foolish decision here. He clearly knew that God's hands were against him and he knew that God would do anything to prevent what Saul had on his mind to harm David.

Chapter 23:"Day after day Saul searched for him, but God did not give David into his hands."
I wonder how distressful it must have been for David to keep hiding from Saul. It must have been also tough for David to respect Saul and to let him live although he surely had to power to conquer Saul. (But David knew that Saul was the Lord's anointed one). I think the only way why David was able to overcome this was because he found strength in the God as stated in verse 16 - "And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God."

Chapter 24: "May the Lord be our judge and decide between us." There is one difference between David and Saul." David knew that God had chosen him to become the next king of Israel and that His grace and mercy would lead him. On the other, Saul against God's will, wanted to remain king of Israel. So David's cause was just while Saul tried to overcome David because of his own personal greed and ambition.

Chapter 25: We can truly see that God's mighty hands protect David and He leads his way throughout. He also enabled him to meet new people and to build relationships (e.g. Abigail) so that he was able to overcome his sad heart due to Saul.

Chapter 26: We can see again how David spares Saul's life thinking that he should not do any harm the Lord's anointed one. David clearly knows that justice belongs to the Lord and trusts that the Lord will value his life and deliver him from all trouble.
