1 Samuel 27: It's obvious from the Bible that David and his men killed many men and women as he attacked areas in Philistine territory. How and why did God allow that to happen since he is the God of love who creates all living beings? Can this killing be considered as a righteous act by David?
1 Samuel 28:"Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, filled with fear because of Samuel’s words." Was Saul scared because of Samuel's words or because the Lord has departed him? We can clearly see that Saul's thinking and intentions are earth-bound meaning that he just cared about his personal glory as king. He forgot that it was God who established him as the king of Israel.
1 Samuel 29: I wonder if David really had the intention to fight against the Israelite who were led by Saul. After all, David respected Saul since he was the anointed one by the Lord and father of his best friend Jonathan.
1 Samuel 30: We can see how David acknowledges the God to be the true commander and chief of the army. David knows and realizes that God has protected him and his armies and delivered into their hands the raiding party that came against them. It's also interesting to see how frequently David communicated with the Lord by inquiring him of the next steps he should take. That's how much David feared and acknowledged the Lord in his life.
1 Samuel 31: I really wonder why Jonathan had to die along with his father and two other brothers? After all, he was a righteous person (I think) and he was the friend of David who succeeded Saul as the next king of Israel. He would have been the natural heir to the throne of Saul but he voluntarily passed it on to David...
