John 20:
"Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" ...."Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."
What are we seeking to find and see as we seek Jesus in our lives? We also look to find Christ in our lives and want to see signs and wonders and evidence of His existence in every way possible. But we should keep in mind that just as Jesus said to Mary " "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" while standing very close by, He is right there as we call out on Him. Instead of seeking signs and wonders of this life, we should entrust ourselves to the Holy Spirit who works within us and through us.
John 21:
Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples ventured to question Him, "Who are You?" knowing that it was the Lord... I wonder if the appearance of the risen Lord was any different compared to the look before death and resurrection since there were (some) doubters. It's interesting how the disciples (e.g. Simon Peter) are back at the location when he first met Jesus 3 years ago. The difference is that he is now a much more mature person ready to really follow Jesus since he has been given a second chance as Jesus reinstated him after his previous shortcomings. We should keep in mind that Christ gives us a second chance too all the time and that we should be ready to respond "yes, I will follow." Amen!
