1 Timothy 1: ...you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith.... Indeed, advancing God's word is not done by mere speculations, calculations or fables end endless genealogies. Rather, it is being done by faith given to us by Christ Jesus through the strengthening of the Holy Spirit.
1 Timothy 2:... who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth... And for this purpose, God has appointed us a herald and apostle. We should keep in mind this calling and not take his calling too lightly.
1 Timothy 3: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit,[d] was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory... This indeed is the great mystery from which true godliness springs. And this is the Lord and Savior whom we believe and will declare.
