Jeremiah 34: The warnings to Zedekiah by God concerning Judah and Jerusalem don't seem to fade. Though restoration and healing are in sight eventually, Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials are being punished by God since they violate the slavery law, by forcing the male and female slaves they had set free to go where they wished, to become their slaves again.
Jeremiah 35: The descendants of Jehonadab son of Rekab have carried out the command their forefather gave them (e.g. ‘Neither you nor your descendants must ever drink wine. Also you must never build houses, sow seed or plant vineyards.) God uses this example to illustrate to Jeremiah how the family of the Rekabites obeyed the command, while the people in Judah and Jerusalem have not obeyed Him nor answered to His calling.
Jeremiah 36: How brave, daring and foolish Jehoiakim king of Judah was for burning the words of the scroll written by Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet given by the Lord! Either Johiahim is too foolish or bold and daring thinking that he knows better than the Lord.
