"여러분의 아내와 아들, 딸들이 귀에 달고 있는 금고리들을 빼서, 나에게 가져 오시오." 모든 백성이 저희 귀에 단 금고리들을 빼서, 아론에게 가져 왔다. 아론이 그들에게서 그것들을 받아 녹여서, 그 녹인 금을 거푸집에 부어 송아지 상을 만드니, 그들이 외쳤다. How wicked,deceitful and corrupt these people are.... It's especially very disappointing to see Aaron changing so abruptly. He was nevertheless chosen along with Moses to lead to the Israelites. He had seen and witnessed all the miracles that God had showed to humble the Pharaoh. But now we can see the fragility of human nature. Just because Moses did not come down from the mountain for a while, Aaron loses hope and allows himself along with others to create and worship a god made out of gold. Although that seems very pathetic initially, we are not very different. Our thoughts and attitudes toward God can change immediately within minutes as well. We can be thanksgiving for one moment, but quickly be blaming God if something bad happens that we did not expect. We have to keep praying to God that we remain faithful with unchanging hearts in our lives.
