이튿날 모세는 백성에게 말하였다. "너희는 크나큰 죄를 지었다. 그러나 이제 내가 주께 올라가서, 너희를 용서하여 달라고 빌겠다." 모세가 주께로 돌아가서 아뢰었다. "슬픕니다. 이 백성이 금으로 신상을 만듦으로써 큰 죄를 지었습니다.그러나 이제 주께서 그들의 죄를 용서하여 주십시오. 그렇게 하지 않으시려면, 주께서 기록하신 책에서 저의 이름을 지워 주십시오." 주께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "누구든지 나에게 죄를 지으면, 나는 오직 그 사람만을 나의 책에서 지운다. 이제 너는 가서, 내가 너에게 말한 곳으로 백성을 인도하여라. 보아라, 나의 천사가 너를 인도할 것이다. 그러나 기억하여라. 때가 되면, 내가 그들에게 반드시 죄를 묻겠다." 그 뒤에 주께서는, 아론이 수송아지를 만든 일로, 이 백성에게 재앙을 내리셨다.

1.) We can see how Moses sympathizes for the people, and prays for them that God may not punish them.... We should think about whether or not we have the hearts and passion to pray for our brothers/sisters' sins.
2.) Though God forgives all our sins that we confess to Him, there can be consequences for us Christians as illustrated in today's verses: ...whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book....However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin...." And the LORD struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made
