Colossians 2:20-23

여러분은 그리스도와 함께 죽어서 세상의 유치한 원리에서 떠났는데, 어찌하여 아직도 이 세상에 속하여 사는 것과 같이 규정에 얽매여 있습니까? "붙잡지도 말아라. 맛보지도 말아라. 건드리지도 말아라" 하니, 웬 말입니까? 이런 것들은 다 한때에 쓰다가 없어지는 것으로서, 사람의 규정과 교훈을 따른 것입니다. 이런 것들은, 꾸며낸 경건과 겸손과 몸을 학대하는 데는 지혜를 나타내 보이지만, 육체의 욕망을 억제하는 데는 아무런 유익이 없습니다. Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
