Genesis 24:22-31

낙타들이 물 마시기를 그치니, 노인은, 반 세겔 나가는 금 코걸이 하나와 십 세겔 나가는 금팔찌 두 개를 소녀에게 주면서 물었다. "아가씨는 뉘 댁 따님이시오? 아버지 집에, 우리가 하룻밤 묵어갈 수 있는 방이 있겠소?" 소녀가 노인에게 대답하였다. "저의 아버지는 함자가 브두엘이고, 할머니는 함자가 밀가이고, 할아버지는 함자가 나홀입니다." 소녀는 말을 계속하였다. "우리 집에는, 겨와 여물도 넉넉하고, 하룻밤 묵고 가실 수 있는 방도 있습니다."일이 이쯤 되니, 아브라함의 종은 머리를 숙여서 주님께 경배하고 "나의 주인 아브라함을 보살펴 주신 하나님, 주님을 찬양합니다. 나의 주인에게 주님의 인자와 성실을 끊지 않으셨으며, 주님께서 저의 길을 잘 인도하여 주셔서, 나의 주인의 동생 집에 무사히 이르게 하셨습니다" 하고 찬양하였다. 소녀가 달려가서, 어머니 집 식구들에게 이 일을 알렸다. 리브가에게는 라반이라고 하는 오라버니가 있는데, 그가 우물가에 있는 그 노인에게 급히 달려왔다. 그는, 자기 동생이 코걸이와 팔찌를 하고 있는 것을 보고, 또 노인이 누이에게 한 말을 누이에게서 전해 듣고, 곧바로 달려나와서, 우물가에 낙타와 함께 있는 노인을 만났다.라반이 그에게 말하였다. "어서 들어가시지요. 할아버지는 주님께서 주시는 복을 받으신 분이십니다. 어찌하여 여기 바깥에 서 계십니까? 방이 준비되어 있고, 낙타를 둘 곳도 마련되어 있습니다."When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels. Then he asked, "Whose daughter are you? Please tell me, is there room in your father's house for us to spend the night?" She answered him, "I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milcah bore to Nahor." And she added, "We have plenty of straw and fodder, as well as room for you to spend the night."Then the man bowed down and worshiped the LORD, saying, "Praise be to the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, the LORD has led me on the journey to the house of my master's relatives." The girl ran and told her mother's household about these things. Now Rebekah had a brother named Laban, and he hurried out to the man at the spring. As soon as he had seen the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister's arms, and had heard Rebekah tell what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring."Come, you who are blessed by the LORD," he said. "Why are you standing out here? I have prepared the house and a place for the camels."
