Genesis 31:51-55

라반은 야곱에게 또 다짐하였다. "이 돌무더기를 보게. 그리고 내가 자네와 나 사이에다 세운 이 돌기둥을 보게. 이 돌무더기가 증거가 되고, 이 돌기둥이 증거가 될 것이네. 내가 이 돌무더기를 넘어 자네 쪽으로 가서 자네를 치지 않을 것이니, 자네도 또한 이 돌무더기와 이 돌기둥을 넘어 내가 있는 쪽으로 와서 나를 치지 말게. 아브라함의 하나님, 나홀의 하나님, 그들의 조상의 하나님이 우리 사이를 판가름하여 주시기를 바라네." 그러자 야곱은 그의 아버지 이삭을 지켜 주신 '두려운 분'의 이름으로 맹세하였다. 야곱은 거기 산에서 제사를 드리고, 친족들을 식탁에 초대하였다. 그들은 산에서 제사 음식을 함께 먹고, 거기에서 그 날 밤을 보냈다. 라반은 다음날 아침 일찍 일어나, 자기 손자 손녀들과 딸들에게 입을 맞추고, 그들에게 축복하고, 길을 떠나서 고향으로 돌아갔다. Laban also said to Jacob, "Here is this heap, and here is this pillar I have set up between you and me. This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not go past this heap to your side to harm you and that you will not go past this heap and pillar to my side to harm me. May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us." So Jacob took an oath in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac. He offered a sacrifice there in the hill country and invited his relatives to a meal. After they had eaten, they spent the night there. Early the next morning Laban kissed his grandchildren and his daughters and blessed them. Then he left and returned home.
