Mark 12:28-34

율법학자들 가운데 한 사람이 다가와서, 그들이 변론하는 것을 들었다. 그는 예수가 그들에게 대답을 잘 하시는 것을 보고서, 예수께 물었다. "모든 계명 가운데서 가장 으뜸되는 것은 어느 것입니까?" 예수께서 대답하셨다. "첫째는 이것이다. '이스라엘아, 들어라. 우리 하나님이신 주님은 오직 한 분이신 주님이시다. 네 마음을 다하고, 네 목숨을 다하고, 네 뜻을 다하고, 네 힘을 다하여, 너의 하나님이신 주님을 사랑하여라.'둘째는 이것이다. '네 이웃을 네 몸 같이 사랑하여라.' 이 계명보다 더 큰 계명은 없다." 그러자 율법학자가 예수께 말하였다. "선생님, 옳은 말씀입니다. 하나님은 한 분이시요, 그 밖에 다른 이는 없다고 하신 그 말씀은 옳습니다. 또 마음을 다하고 지혜를 다하고 힘을 다하여 하나님을 사랑하는 것과, 이웃을 자기 몸 같이 사랑하는 것이, 모든 번제와 희생제보다 더 낫습니다." 예수께서는, 그가 슬기롭게 대답하는 것을 보시고, 그에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 하나님의 나라에서 멀리 있지 않다." 그 뒤에는 감히 예수께 더 묻는 사람이 없었다.One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'There is no commandment greater than these." "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
