Galatians 5:1-6

그리스도께서 우리를 해방시켜 주셔서, 자유를 누리게 하셨습니다. 그러므로 굳게 서서, 다시는 종살이의 멍에를 메지 마십시오. 나 바울이 여러분에게 말합니다. 여러분이 할례를 받으면, 그리스도는 여러분에게 아무런 유익이 없습니다. 내가 할례를 받는 모든 사람에게 다시 증언합니다. 그런 사람은 율법 전체를 이행해야 할 의무를 지닙니다. 율법으로 의롭게 되려고 하는 사람은 그리스도에게서 끊어지고, 은혜에서 떨어져 나간 사람입니다. 그러나 우리는 성령을 힘입어서, 믿음으로 의롭다고 하심을 받을 소망을 간절히 기다리고 있습니다.그리스도 예수 안에서는, 할례를 받거나 안 받는 것이 문제가 되는 것이 아닙니다. 가장 중요한 것은, 믿음이 사랑을 통하여 일하는 것입니다.It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope.For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
