1 Chronicles 28: ...acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought... This was the life principle of David which he followed all his life and passed on to his son Solomon.

1 Chronicles 29: ... keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you...for human nature is fragile and weak. In one moment we praise the Lord with your lips and heart, but the next moment we curse our brothers with our lips. This shows how fickle human nature is.

2 Chronicles 1: Truly, Solomon's desire was to have wisdom and knowledge, that he may lead this people of Israel. I believe that this pleased the Lord since his priorities and focus as king of Israel was right before God.

2 Chronicles 2: Indeed, the Lord had given King David a wise son, endowed with intelligence and discernment, who would build a temple for the Lord and a palace for himself. Instead of focusing on his glory and fall into the trap of erecting other forms of gods, Solomon correctly handled his position, time and authority to please the Lord.

2 Chronicles 3: We can see how Solomon built and furnished the temple with finest materials as possible, for he thought that nothing would be too good for the Lord. Though God probably did not delight in gold or silver materials, but He probably gave credit to Solomon's pure heart for wanting to give Him the best of all he possessed.
