Ezekiel 16: Here, Jerusalem is depicted as an adulterous wife who has been engaged in many forms of prostitution rather than just clinging to her true and only husband, God.
Ezekiel 17:All the trees of the field will recognize that I, God, made the great tree small and the small tree great, made the green tree turn dry and the dry tree sprout green branches. I, God, said it—and I did it.’” God wants our full attention and recognition that He is the true and only Lord in our lives.
Ezekiel 18: "I’ll judge each of you according to the way you live. So turn around! Turn your backs on your rebellious living so that sin won’t drag you down. Clean house. No more rebellions, please. Get a new heart! Get a new spirit!" The message cannot be any more clear about repentance. We will need a renewed heart and spirit to completely turn around from our sinful lives.
