Hebrews 7: Unlike Melchizedek, Jesus lives and He is our permanent priest who intervenes between us and God. He is completely holy, uncompromised by sin, with authority extending as high as God’s presence in heaven itself. We should keep in mind that "Jesus doesn’t have to offer sacrifices for his own sins every day before he can get around to us and our sins. He’s done it, once and for all: offered up himself as the sacrifice." If we firmly believe in this, then we are really His heirs.

Hebrews 8: The new plan with Israel was the new covenant between God and the people, which was no longer written anywhere but in the hearts of His people. This new covenant helps us to get to know Him by being kindly forgiven, with the slate of our sins forever wiped clean.
