Exodus 23: The message in this chapter seems to be simple: But you—you serve your God and he’ll bless your food and your water. In the "land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites," God would clear the country of them for His people as long as they would "not make any deals with them or their gods."
Exodus 24: God said to Moses, “Climb higher up the mountain and wait there for me; I’ll give you tablets of stone, the teachings and commandments that I’ve written to instruct them.” So Moses got up, accompanied by Joshua his aide. And Moses climbed up the mountain of God." Why did God not command Moses to take his brother Aaron instead of Joshua ? Also, we can see that God wants people to respect and honor His glory and presence as He only alllows certain people to climb up the mountain to see Him (e.g. Moses and Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel).
