Genesis 49: As Jacob gives his blessings to his sons, it's noticeable that not all his sons receive true blessings. Jacob also pokes criticism to a few of his sons (e.g. Reuben, Simeon, Levi).
Genesis 50: It's interesting to see how Joseph reassures his brother that he will do no harm to them now that Jacob their father is dead. Joseph thinks that it was all God's plan that they now live in Egypt together: "but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now—life for many people." But regardless of how much of a good life Joseph enjoyed in Egypt, he would later request that his body be brought up out of Egypt and be buried in Shechem in a parcel of land Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem.
