Exodus 7: The staff turning into a snake ... the water in the Nile river turning into blood. These are the first few wonders by God through Moses and Aaron. But these acts were not impressive as the magicians were able to pull off the same. Rather, I think these practices served as foundation of faith for Moses and Aaron who were overwhelmed by God's commands to approach the king of Egypt and ask him to let the people take a three-day journey into the wilderness so they can worship God.
Exodus 8: It's interesting to see how magicians also produced frogs in Egypt using their incantations. But it's also interesting to see that the magicians tried to produce gnats and flies with their incantations but this time they couldn’t do it! Furthermore, as God had warned Moses and Aaron, Pharaoh became stubborn once again and wouldn’t release the people.
