Esther 8-10
Esther 8:
The King’s Edict in Behalf of the Jews (vs.1-14)
The Triumph of the Jews (vs.15-17)
Esther 9:
The Triumph of the Jews (vs.1-19)
Purim Established (vs.20-32)
Esther 10:
The Greatness of Mordecai (vs.1-3)
Esther 8: Because of Esther and Mordecai's plea for the Jews, the king wrote a decree in behalf of the Jews. As a result, the Jews were spared and it resulted in the triumph of the Jews.
Esther 9: So the festival of Purim commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman's plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.” It's interesting to see that the Jews did not lay their hands on the plunder. It shows that they were not driven by materialism but their motivation was purely driven by patriotism and love for their people.
Esther 10: Mordecai was great in the sense that he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews.
