Nehemiah 1: Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name...Nehemiah seemed to have the right before the Lord for he humbled himself by first praising the Lord and glorifying Him; and by seeking out to Him in prayer.
Nehemiah 2: Of course, there are rebellious people who mock and ridicule people against a cause. In the case of Nehemiah, this happened as he inspected Jerusalem’s Walls and started the good work of rebuilding them. Nehemiah knew that “The God of heaven will give him success because the gracious hand of his God was with him throughout.
Nehemiah 3: It's more than apparent the builders of the wall made a huge effort to rebuild the walls and the Lord's grace was upon them as He sent many people to participate in this work.
Nehemiah 4: Our God will fight for us!” This was the core belief of Nehemiah. Though he and the men held spears and other weapons, he knew that the God was in control over this fight against Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod.
Nehemiah 5: Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people... We can see that Nehemiah wanted to get recognized and credited by only God and not by people. He never demanded the food allotted to the governor, because the demands were heavy on these people. Although he could have exercised some authority as governor in the land of Judah, he did not. Instead, out of reverence for God Nehemiah did not act like that but he devoted himself to the work on this wall.
