Proverbs 6: Warnings against folly and adultery. We should keep in mind the six things the Lord hates and detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. Thinking about this, it's something we do our everyday lives with our hearts, minds and bodies. We should pray that we will stop doing these things that are detestable in the eyes of our Lord.
Proverbs 7:Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths.... indeed our hearts have a tendency to devise wicked schemes and are easily led away by the temptations of this life, especially when it comes to sexual sins. I pray that the Lord will protect my heart and will prevent any temptations lurking.
Proverbs 8: I truly pray that I will I find Him in whom there is true life, and receive favor from the Lord. I pray that I will be able to distinguish and realize the riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity which can be only found in the Lord.
Proverbs 9: To those who have no sense she says, “Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!”...Indeed this is we are being tempted by the pleasures of the world. We have two choices in our daily lives - either follow wisdom and understanding OR follow folly. In order to discern, we have to pray and seek His guidance.
Proverbs 10: The list shows clearly what the Lord delights in vs. what He detests. We are given clear instructions by showing us what true wisdom is and what we have to do be wise and understanding in the eyes of the Lord. We can apply this to our daily lives by starting in small increments and steps and I am sure that the Lord will give us the needed strength and wisdom to carry our His word. Amen!
