Psalm 54: "Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me." Here we can see that David fully relies on God for help and he surrenders himself to Him.

Psalm 55: In a sense it's understandable that David asks God to deal justly with those who are his enemies. But I think David should just seek God for himself and leave the consequences of others in the hands of God rather than asking Him to do this and that.

Psalm 56: " I will present my thank offerings to you. 13 For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling." Again, David's words seem to be so conditional toward God. It seems that he wants to give sacrifices to Him because of his deliverance from death and feet from stumbling. Rather, should he not be giving thanks to God just for who He is?

Psalm 57:"I am in the midst of lions; I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts." Amidst all this tension, David praises the Lord for steadfastness and unfailing love.

Psalm 58: Surely the righteous still are rewarded by God. And David was righteous in the eyes of the Lord.

Psalm 59: God, you are my strength and my fortress... this is a confession by David which he speaks out of his heart. He does not wish God to completely wipe out his enemies but just wishes for justice.

Psalm 60: David mentions twice in this chapter that God has rejected him and his men. This shows how fragile and weak human nature is before God. In one moment we praise God and the in the moment we blame Him. Surely God has not forsake him and men. David seems to have forgotten the countless number of victories that God has given into his hands until thus far.

Psalm 61: "Appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him. Then I will ever sing in praise of your name." We can feel David's earnest plea and longing for God's mercy upon him. Many times, this is how we pray to God. However, our prayer should focus on building relationship with God rather than asking God to fulfill things in our lives.
