Genesis 27: Tricky, tricky Jacob! But why did God allow Jacob's trickery against Esau to happen? At the end, Esau loses both his birthright and even his blessing.
Genesis 28: Isaac was tricked by Jacob into believing that he was Esau so he could take away the blessing. Regardless, Isaac called in Jacob and blessed him saying ..."And may The Strong God bless you and give you many, many children, a congregation of peoples." As the chapter moves on, he slowly realized that God would be really with him - , “God is in this place—truly. And I didn’t even know it!” He was terrified. He whispered in awe, “Incredible. Wonderful. Holy. This is God’s House. This is the Gate of Heaven.” We can also see how bitter Esau felt about this situation. Realizing how deeply his father Isaac disliked the Canaanite women, he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son.
