Genesis 31: We cans see that both Jacob and Laban have the utmost regard and fear for the God of Abraham. Had God not appeared in Laban's dream and told him to "be careful what you do to Jacob, whether good or bad," there could have been a bloody fight in the household. In the end, it's the fear and awe of God that keeps their relationship intact as well as help them to keep things straight between them.
Genesis 32: We can see two sides of Jacob - 1. being scared and nervous of his brother Esau so that he throws himself at the mercy of God of his father Abraham, God of his father Isaac" ;2. being courageous since he wrestled with God and came through.
