Genesis 29: So it took a total of 14 years for Jacob to marry both Leah and Rachel. Knowing that Jacob loved Rachel more, Laban cheated him and and first gave him Leah after 7 years of hard work. But he must have liked Jacob's work so he kept him for additional 7 years and offered Rachel in return. Initially Leah would have many sons while Rachel would remain barren.
Genesis 30: Jacob ended up halving many children through Leah but eventually also helped Rachel to have a son. Jacob, after having worked for so many years for Laban requests to be released and to be sent home.
