1 Thessalonians 2:13-16

우리가 하나님께 끊임없이 감사하는 것은, 여러분이 우리에게서 하나님의 말씀을 받을 때에, 사람의 말로 받아들이지 아니하고, 실제 그대로, 하나님의 말씀으로 받아들였기 때문입니다. 이 하나님의 말씀은 또한, 신도 여러분 가운데서 살아 움직이고 있습니다. 형제자매 여러분, 여러분은 그리스도 예수 안에서 유대에 있는 하나님의 교회들을 본받는 사람이 되었습니다. 그들이 유대 사람에게서, 고난을 받은 것과 같이, 여러분도 여러분의 동족에게서 똑같은 고난을 받았습니다. 유대 사람은 주 예수와 예언자를 죽이고, 우리를 내쫓고, 하나님을 기쁘게 해 드리지 않고, 모든 사람에게 적대자가 되었습니다. 그들은 우리가 이방 사람에게 말씀을 전해서 구원을 얻게 하려는 일까지도 방해하고 있습니다. 그리하여 그들은 자기들의 죄의 분량을 채웁니다. 마침내 하나님의 진노가 그들에게 이르렀습니다. And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe. For you, brothers, became imitators of God's churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own countrymen the same things those churches suffered from the Jews, who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to all men in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last.
