1 Thessalonians 5:1-5

형제자매 여러분, 그 때와 시기를 두고서는 여러분에게 더 쓸 필요가 없겠습니다. 주님의 날이 밤에 도둑처럼 온다는 것을, 여러분은 자세히 알고 있습니다. 사람들이 "평안하다, 안전하다" 하고 말할 그 때에, 아기를 밴 여인에게 해산의 진통이 오는 것과 같이, 갑자기 멸망이 그들에게 닥칠 것이니, 그것을 피하지 못할 것입니다. 그러나 형제자매 여러분, 여러분은 어둠 속에 있지 아니하므로, 그 날이 여러분에게 도둑과 같이 덮치지는 않을 것입니다. 여러분은 모두 빛의 자녀요, 낮의 자녀입니다. 우리는 밤이나 어둠에 속한 사람이 아닙니다. Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
