Genesis 21: It's clear that God blessed both Isaac and Ishmael. However, it was God's promise and plan that Abraham's descendants will come through Isaac. Nevertheless, he did not disregard Hagar and Ishmael but led them to also prosperous life away from Sarah and Isaac.
Genesis 22: Abraham passed God's test as he was willing to sacrifice his son for God. Indeed, "now God knew how fearlessly he fears God; he didn’t hesitate to place his, his dear son on the altar for God." This was surely the tipping point of God's blessings for Abraham.
