1 Kings 13: Why was Jeroboam so stubborn not to change his evil ways, but once more appointed priests for the high places from all sorts of people? Why did the man of God from Judah change his course and went with him to his house to eat bread and drink water?

1 Kings 14: We can see continual warfare going on between Israel and Judah - between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. The peace that rested here previously has vanished as both nations did evil in the eyes of the Lord in many ways. Most importantly, people practiced idolatry by setting up for themselves high places, sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree.

1 Kings 15: We can see new kings being set up in Israel and Judah but they similar to their predecessors, followed their evil ways in the eyes of the Lord and parted from Him. We can truly see the sinful nature of the people who are adamant and don't let go of their sinful past. We rejoice and enjoy in the acts of evil (e.g. idolatry) even if this means separation from the Lord.
