1 Kings 16: We can see that none of the successive kings were able to please God but rather walked astray by arousing the anger of the Lord. This confirms that face, power and wealth only leads to destruction of the people since they cannot manage these. Rather we should be content with what God has bestowed upon us.
1 Kings 17: "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth." These are serious words. And unfortunately, the woman was able to make this confession only after she saw her son being alive. Instead of giving thanks to the Lord for the provision of daily flour and oil, she forgot to remember this act of grace but only focused on her son being dead. But I guess this would be the natural reaction of any person in a situation such as this. And the Lord knew this frailty of humans and thus restored the health of the boy probably.
