2 Kings 21-23 (성경통독)
2 Kings 21:
Manasseh King of Judah (vs.1-18)
Amon King of Judah (vs.19-26)
2 Kings 22:
The Book of the Law Found (vs.1-20)
2 Kings 23:
Josiah Renews the Covenant (vs.1-30)
Jehoahaz King of Judah (vs.31-35)
Jehoiakim King of Judah (vs.36-37)
2 Kings 21: Both Manasseh and Amon, Kings of Judah, completely followed evil ways, worshiping the idols their predecessors had worshiped, and bowing down to them. They both forsook the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and did not walk in obedience to Him.... How saddening this must have been to God. But we are not really much different since we also do not walk in obedience to Him most of the time.
2 Kings 22: On the contrary, Josiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and followed completely the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left. His heart was responsive and he humbled himself before the Lord when he heard what God has spoken against this place and its people. So we can see how obedience and turning around from wicked way of life were forms of righteousness in the OT.
2 Kings 23: Indeed, Josiah turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses. He did not turn evil in the eyes of the Lord and stayed true to his faith and faithfulness to the Lord.
